In the 1960s, when the use of CNC turret punch control, pneumatic clutch, and brake technology was used, although the structure was simple, the disadvantages were friction loss, pollution, poor stability, and the need for adjustment and maintenance. Its low-frequency noise was not until the 1980s when hydraulic clutch and brake were used. It has the advantages of stable performance, low noise, less pollution, and long service life, which is longer than pneumatic clutches and brakes, greatly reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
Since the 1990s, the application of hydraulic main drive components has been increasing, and so far it has become the mainstream CNC turret drilling configuration. Compared to the mechanical main transmission cylinder, which replaces the crankshaft connecting rod mechanism, the hydraulic station provides driving force, and the main hydraulic valve block is connected. The action of the entire system is controlled through a dedicated electronic card program, and timely measurement and feedback are achieved through electronic sensors connected to the cylinder piston rod, ultimately accurately controlling the punching position, travel, and speed.
The main transmission components of the initial gantry punch machine machinery were composed of a motor, flywheel, clutch, brake, crankshaft, connecting rod, and slider. The slider moves vertically, and the stamped part is on the metal plate. The connecting rod is connected to the crankshaft and slider, and the rotational motion of the crankshaft changes to the linear motion of the sliding bar. The flywheel is connected to the motor, rotated by a conveyor belt, and stored in a certain amount of energy. When the clutch is closed, the flywheel energy is transmitted through the crankshaft and connecting rod mechanism for stamping. At the end of the stamping process, the clutch drilling action is decoupled, which reduces torque transmission to the crankshaft, while the brake is driven by the flywheel. The rotation of the crankshaft is the first stop. The performance of the clutch and brake is very important, as it directly affects the main power components of work efficiency and service life.
